Didar Özçelik Williams, TMMOB, LEED AP BD+C

Didar received her Bachelor of Architecture from Yeditepe University in Istanbul. She studied Restoration and Renovation at Yildiz Technical University in Istanbul and received her Master’s in Architecture in Sustainable and Environmental Design from the Architectural Association in London in 2011. She currently lives in San Francisco.

It all started when I discovered my passion for designing homes. The most personal and private scale of architecture turned to be my calling for serving to improve the ways that we live and work.

I studied architecture in Istanbul. Working in a place where the ‘old’ exists led me to be curious about understanding how to heal the old home and re-think it to respond to the needs of the current generation and current climate. This curiosity was the core to my studies and ongoing infrastructure work to bring performance and purpose to create beauty and integrity in homes. I studied restoration in Istanbul, which was followed by a masters degree in Sustainable Design in London. I have completed various projects throughout UK, Turkey and the US. I continue building upon my skills that can help bringing this passion to life.
